The Business School offers Professional Development support to raise students’ self-awareness and empower them to take personal responsibility for their own development. Our programmes and activities in this area encourage students to push their comfort zone to reach their full potential both whilst on programme and beyond.

Our flagship Edinburgh Award in Global Employability is a largely self-designed programme which offers a structured framework with a variety of opportunities to support the development of professional and career skills, including group sessions, skills workshops, reflection, peer networking and coaching to facilitate your learning journey and drive greater self-awareness.

Developing transferable skills hugely sought after by employers will not only help your professional development and future career, but can also be applied directly to other areas of your University experience.

Learn in a very practical sense by participating in workshops aimed at increasing knowledge and confidence across a range of key personal competencies which have been identified as critical for employability. These include:

  • Influencing
  • Leadership
  • Presentation skills
  • Resilience
  • Time management

We encourage you to take every opportunity to push your comfort zone, as you may never have a better opportunity to focus your time and energy on building a stronger level of self-awareness.
